Default what to look 4 when buying an amp for sub??

looking to get a little more boom and was wondering what i needed to look for when shopping for an amp?? i just need an amp to power 2 10's max. whats the best bang for the buck amp's??

whats your budget? what 10's are you using?
Check ebay, JBL mono amps are cheap priced but makes the power.

Try to look for class "D" amps (made for subs), since they are more efficient.

well right now my bro has a spare sub lying around that hes not using. its a infinty 1030w reference series 10" sub. any good?? specs on the sub are power handling:250w rms, 1000peak. any suggestions on the box and amp i should be using?? sealed box?? thanks

before buying/building the box, buy the amp first. Since a ported enclosure tends to be more efficient, you could get away with a little less power (~200w rms). if on the other hand, you could find an amp w/ 250~300w rms, then a sealed box would be perfect.
The sub isn't bad, the box and power is more important.
I would personally go with the sealed box, since the bass is deeper and tighter.
as far as amp brand, I would go as high as my budget allows.

in your earlier post you mentioned jbl mono amp, is there a peticular model that you recommend??

JBL GTO 301.1II it's around $200-250.
Also check out :
MTX (older ones found on ebay)
Phoenix gold Octane-R 5.0:1
Rockford Punch P3001
Kicker KX400.1
they usually make the power that they promise. Its just a matter of budget.
