Just curious on what volt preout the 93-4 Nakamichi head unit puts out.

Ok, I converted the wires coming out of the factory amp into RCAs which feed into aftermarket amps. What is that signal compared with older head units with 4V outputs and newer units with 8V outputs? Is there a LOT of audio improvement just by upgrading to an aftermarket head unit?

The voltage is usually very low, consider your self lucky if you get 1 volt.
Phoenix Gold and Audiocontrol makes high to low converters w/ built in linedrivers.
Upgrading to a 4 volt h/u would make a night and day difference.
