Does anyone have any suggestions on where to purchase a cd changer wire harness for a 2000 GS300?

I have the Pioneer system and purchased a used Pioneer six disc cd changer but it did not come with a cd changer wire harness.

I spoke to my local Lexus dealer who told me that the cd changer wire harness only comes with the cd changer kit ($823) and can't be purchased seperately.

I have come to find out that when the manual says "Pre-Wired" it means ready to accept the cd changer wire harness you get when you purchase the cd changer kit.

Can I purchase a similar wire harness from Toyota? The plugs on the cd changer and amp appear to look very unique.

You can order the harness for you changer by calling 1-800-pioneer, this will not plug into you gs-300, the only changer that will work is the factory unit, I think it plugs into the facotry amp in the passanger kick panel.

Thanks for the information. I tried calling Pioneer and they told me that they only supply the units ( stereo and cd changer ) for Lexus and not the wiring. Some other company must supply the wiring for Lexus

I should probably clarify that I have the Pioneer head unit which comes standard the GS300. The used cd changer I purchased is the Lexus six disc cd changer which fits in the glove box ( CDX-M8076zt ) made by Pioneer.

I have bee told by my local Lexus dealer that it is the same disc player they would sell me for my GS300.

can I add a 6 disc changer to my factory without the FM modulator. I was told that I could purchase a dedicated unit from any stereo retailer.

The only cd changer which will work off of the factory controlls at this time is the factory unit.

Question factory or rip it out ?

Well, how easy or expensive is it to just rip the entire factory system out. I can probably add a Nakamichi 3Disc changer in dash cheaper than buying a dealer cd changer, what do youguys think?? worth the trouble??????
