Pioneer AVIC-D1 questions..
I am planning on buying one of these systems for my car. I have a few questions though. Where can I find the dash kit for the 2nd gen gs? Also I plan on using a rear view camera, which flush trunk keyhole camera is the best to use with this system? I want a TV tuner but the pioneer one is about $300, what is a less costly option that can be used with this system? Thanks!

I've seen good dash kits on Ebay. Seach GS400 or GS300 stereo dash kit and see what you find. You'll need a double din to fit the radio

Search for my post on the D1. I put a lot of info and pics on here about it and my experience.
My guys had the kit at their shop already. I think it is right from Toyota.
BTW, we couldn't get a camera to fit flush. Tried a few and none would fit. Let me know if you find one.
Directed Video has a DVD player that fits in the glove box instead of the cd changer and it has a built in tuner. You can buy a refurbished unit for $50 online. I forget what the site is though.

Thanks for the info. How much should installation be for keyhole camera, avic-d1, and dvd player? Is it possible to keep the stock cd changer with the dvd player as well and place the dvd player somewhere else? I looked at the installation manual for the avic-d1 system and it didnt seem that complicated. I plan on doing the install myself but then again witih the dvd player and camera .

I would guess you could put the DVD player anywhere, but who the hell wants a cd changer anymore? The D1 can play MP3 cd, so that should cover you there. I also had an IR Eye installed behind my rear view mirror so I can point my remote anywhere and it works and I don't have to worry about opening the glovebox to operate it.
I couldn't tell you anything about installation, however I do know the camera is a ***** to do

With the Pioneer D1, you can leave the CD changer in there but it won't work unless you get it converted to work on your factory CD changer. There are a couple guys here that can help u with that. Search my friend lol. As for the DVD player, mount it in your console thing behind the cupholder, below the seat OR below the glove box area by the foot well if you wanna keep it inside the cabin. As for the camera you'd have to thread the cable from your D1 brain box through the interior, out the rear passage into the trunk and then drill a hole OR find a spot to place it by your license plate or key hole to keep it flush. Good luck and post pics
