Last month, i just had the DEI Valet Remote starter installed in my car by Circuit City (don't go there..bad service.) it was $75 w/ MANDATORY installation ($100). Then, they tell me the remote doors would be another $25 and remote trunk another $30 and 7 hours labor!!!!!!! -__-'''.
Definetly not a DIY.
One thing annoying though is if you use the factory remote, you will activate the alarm, and disable the remote start (unless you get the factory bypasser)

"we" are thinking about going to a local shop to install this bad boy because it is damn complicated.

one problem: no reliable shops that I know of around...

I always recommend Compustar remote starters. They are great quality, have a few different models to choose from, including 2 way paging models, have lifetime warranty, and offer the longest range out of any brand out there. If you're not familiar with installing this type of product, don't do it, you can seriously damage your car and possibly yourself. Wherever you take the car to get it installed at, make sure they have a lifetime warranty on their labor. Also if the installer is good, he/she will be able to let the factory alarm still work while having remote start.
