Red face Sc400 trunk subs question...

i just put 2 12's in the trunk and i still have my stock sub behind the rear seat. they are both controlled by the bass **** on the stock HU, i get enough bass into the cabon. when i have the trunk open the bass is about 3 times louder. thats what i want, i would much rather have people outsdide of the car hear me, what can i do to the trunk so people outside can hear it clearer from a distance...im kind of a show off kind of guy . i want more sound outside of the car. thanks

Your stock sub is killin you bro, take that out and you'll get so much more air into the cabin. Also remove the stock sub amp, and DEFINITELY the fuel pump cover. All these will increase the bass sooooooo much, then when u open the windows, people will hear you comin from blocks away

Run the wires from your headunit (aka before the amp) rather than after. This is supposed to be the "correct way" anyways. Or if you dont wanna do that, just leave the amp in, its the other 2 things that make a big difference.

so if i just unplug the stock sub and take it out and leave the amp is there a problem with doing that? and what do i have to unplug to remove the stock sub and how do i do it? how long should it take? and can i leave the sub cover on over the rear seat? would it make it better if i took it off?

Nah no problem leaving the stock amp. Youll have to remove the rear seat, one side of side paneling in the rear interior, and the fabric rear deck cover (and the sub cover obviously). Should take about an hour to get everything out your first time, just be careful and dont pull anything toooooo hard. Yes u can leave the sub cover, but while everything is out, you should definitely lay down some sound proofing stuff to prevent rattles from the sub. That sub cover LOVES to rattle...alot. Good luck bro, and sorry for the delay gettin back to you

Yeah most def. think about it, your running a small gauge wire for a 10" sub to more then double the capacity of that, if you rewire it will most likely get better bass just from that. And do you have them bridged which made a huge difference for me (Incase you don't know to bridge run only one channel from the amp or where it says to bridge it on the amp, run 1 positive and negative wire to one sub from the amp and then splice a wire on each positive and negative wire the one ran into your first sub from the amp, and run them to your other sub. Just make sure that the spliced wires goes in the right place, like splice a wire into the negative first one at a time is easiest then run it into the negative of the other sub or vice versa. Hope this helps!
