I have a 97 SC400 with the Nakamichi system....it has been wonderful.....but lately the rear speakers are getting weak compared to the front ones....they are barely putting out in comparison to the front......I'm suspecting that the amp may be on the way out.....is there a place that re-builds these units? Rather than pulling another used one out of a salvage that may not have a lot of shelf life left in it I'd just like to have it rebuilt. Anyone have any idea of a company that does this and how much it might cost?

That amp powers the front speakers, too, so don't be too sure it's the amp.
Check out the sticky thread (https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=109384) and make sure the rear speakers are still working well.
If not, replacing them will cost a lot less than an amp.

Have you twiddled the fader control on your headunit? Sometimes the contacts age or oxidize and cause poor connections, could be causing your problem. I do agree with Perry, don't assume that your amp is the problem. Unplug and replug all the connectors on your amp to see if that helps as well.
You would also be better off spending any repair money on aftermarket speakers/amps, since you'll be better off in the long run, and your sound will improve.
