Yeah, I read that but I don't see much difference. I thought you meant your kit had no plastic. I never used the plastic brackets any kit provided but used the factory brackets on the head unit and attached the faceplate. Although this is not the double DIN kit I did below is a picture of using the same method. What can I say, I'm cheap. I will modify a kit to save $50.

Yea but does the color match the ac controls?

Yep. It matches pretty good in my car. Not exact but pretty good. Most kits i see don't match perfectly either. My climate controls are charcoal gray with semi metallic look finish and the kit is dark gray. It matches better than a lot I have seen where the climate controls are silver.
