Whats the potentiometer on a battery cap for?
I have an audio bahn 1 farad cap. There is a potentiometer on top that you can adjust to change the voltage that is displayed. I was wondering if this doese anything.

I looked on their website but there is no direct reference to this, as expected.
It is probably one of two things:
1) those caps have an overvoltage protection circuit, and you may be able to adjust the overvoltage point;
or more likely 2) the pot is a calibration pot so that you can calibrate the voltage display with a separate voltmeter, most likely because they used a cheap design with no voltage references or regulator, and the monitored voltage is ratiometrically determined, so differences in circuit components need to be adjusted out.

Thanks for the explaination, I think its probally more along the lines of the second answer. Just wanted to throw it out there in case anyone else knew. Also how fast is a cap supose to drain when it gets disconected from the battery? Mine drained pretty quick, I think all audio bahn products are just crap

Your cap will drain if it is connected to anything. The rate of drain is proportional to the equivalent resistance of the leakage paths thru the power inputs of the amp(s) & anything else connected. The only way to prevent it from draining is to disconnect all wires on the + input of the cap.
