i was getting my system put in and the guy drilled through the main wires under the dash where the foot pedals are. the car didnt start. so he had to soder the wires and now the car will start but only if u jump start it. we know it has to do with the anti theft system . what do i have to do to get it to work. i didnt have the car for almost 3 days now cuz he screwed up the main wiring. please help me!!!!!!

 

have them take it to the dealer for diagnostics and repair. Then have the shop pay for everything because its their f'up....

don't stress yourself out..its their responsibility not yours. You should be stressing them out to get it fixed

well they replaced the harness but now the car will only start by jump staring it. the anti theft has to be reflashed or something?????????? who can do a reflash and what do they use to do it

 

Who is the "they"? Are you saying that the dealer replaced the harness but still can't get it working right?

 

no its my friends shop that did the job, and they replaced the wiring but the car still wont start unless u jump start it cuz of the anti theft, the car thinks that its stolen so i need to reflash the ecu.????????

i doubt they replaced the harness. taking out the harness is an all day job.

 

You're gonna have to visit a dealer. Hopefully your friend will reimburse you for the damage.

 

1. WHY did he drill through the foot pedal area? Very much loaded with electronics in the upper pedal area.

2. Take the car to the DEALERSHIP. Have him pay for ALL of the labor/parts, etc. Sounds like the person didn't know what he/she was doing and just did a completely half a$$ed job. Let the other guy learn (the shop) by PAYING for the mistake.

3. Reflashing/reprogramming ECU? Guess what.... DEALERSHIP.

4. "Friends shop"? If he doesn't pay for the mistake, I wouldn't call him or her your friend anymore.

5. Learn how to install audio yourself. Drills are dangerous, especially with someone who isn't completely familiar (most shops aren't) with Lexus automobiles.

6. What is the name of the shop so we can avoid it in the future?
