I am exploring building the circuit boards + electronics, but have not figured out how to get connectors for plug and play. It is hard to give the option to unsers to splice the harness. [also RX, GS. LS, IS, LX, ES, GX, and SC] each will have their quirks.

I had enough with this FM modulator and cassette adapter that ejects every 10 seconds.
Every owner of Lexus and iPod that I know are waiting for this type of connection.

After coaxing, I have a couple of prototypes. Have not found a suitable box just yet,
Should work for IS, SC, GS, RX and LS. Have not looked at IS, ES, LX and GX schematics, so I cant make compatability claims just yet.

What's the latest on these kits? Are you still just prototyping, or can I buy one from you? Any luck sourcing plugs/sockets to avoid splicing into the wiring? I'm willing to splice and bought the parts for the DIY Aux-In for the RX300, so I'm ready to go.

98 GS has Nak and Pioneer. I have not checked the Nak but Pioneer on paper looks similar. Since I have not measured signal levels, I have to go by the assumption that gain/level may need adjusting. My bread-board had trim-pots but they create relaibility issues.
Some one posted part numbers and source of plugs for RX. Unprofessional splicing will be required from the unit to the plugs. That might be acceptable as each installation preference might be different.
It has been a wonderful experience and learning for me. My price target was $50 but the prototype cost is more than that. The price is currently dominated by the pc-board and box. They can only be brought down by volume production.
Right now my choices are:
1. Sell the prototype [cost is high, so i might have to subsidize or ebay it]
2. Loan the unit out. [Does not pass my sanity check as who would want to cut their harness and then retrun the unit]
Once I have the connectors, I can at least laon the units.

Needed to stay on 1/10th inch grid and single sided pcb (two jumpers only). Can be shrunk on production run and 2 sided pcb.
For the keen eye, notice how dc supply is diagonally opposite audio signals and tie-downs/strain-releif on wires, all components flat on pcb .... mechanically and electrically robust set-up.

Are you willing to cut and splice wiring harness or have access to male and female plug to either CD or CD-HU connector?
