It's a custom box into my spare tire area with a false floor and flush mounted amps.



The W7 is a beast of a woofer. Especially in this enclosure with a lot of air space and being ported as well. I love it, and like I said before if I didn't have this one I'd have 2 of the 23 KX woofers. sorta like this....just not part of such a RIDICULOUS high end system. *I will be making an update to the Utopia thread here soon*

Yeah the top end Alpine are mind blowing. I can't stand Alpine sound (shrilly and hollow IMO) however the top end stuff is downright amazing.

Afraid to stray too far off topic here now...but i have to ask Whats wrong with the new stuff? Ive had various RF gear the last 10-12 years...and i cant for the life of me find one good reason to go bak to their older stuff...atleast regarding subs

newer stuff needs to be in ported enclosures to actually sound decent in my opinion. Personally I really dislike the quality of sound out of the Power series woofers, I think they're more for noise than anything. Granted they'll take a crap load of power and run with it, but I am just not a fan of the sound output. Than again....I'm a Focal and JL man myself

Older stuff was just built tuff as nails, more nostalgia than anything

side note: we sent off our two Power 1000 Terminator edition (top fan cooled) amplifiers to get serviced, they should be back soon

Alphasonika 800 series can blow away the Kicker L7s and are around the same price...

My sub choices go (in order) JL, Alpine Type-X, Diamond, Eclipse, Pheonix Gold, Kicker... JL makes the best mono amps, imo.
