I have a 97 LS400 with the in-dash (just above the glove box) CD player. When I insert the magazine and hit the CD button on the stereo the unit starts up and goes through a disk check. When that is completed I get an Error 14 on the stereo. I removed all home made CD's and still get the code.

Can anybody tell me what "Error 14" is??

The dealer says they don't mess with them and the unit will need to be replaced. Is this true??

Is there a better unit than what is in the car that I should consider for replacement??
