Ok this is my problem. I have a JL Audio 300/4 Amp and I need to know what set of component speakers should I get? That can handle the power of this amp also keep in mind that I love to blast my music. I mostly listen to Rap and R&B so there is alot of bass and I need some speakers that I wont kill. So what brand and what model should I get and please tell me how do you rate the ones that you list thanks

 

Well, I have been using Boston Acoustics Pro series components for years, and I love them, I have also used MB Quarts Q series and they had to go. They were a little too rich with the highs (tweeters) and not much on the low end. Also it depends on how much you want to spend on the components. Boston also has a Z series which is the new flag ship and they are around $1100.00 a set for 6.5s. There is also Focal and Dynaudio that are high end but I personally have never listened to those play.

I listen to rap and r&b a lot and the Proseries do the job very well.

 

Just get a set of JL XR components from Ebay.

 

to Boston Pros. Use them here, too.

I third Boston Pros or Z6's. Excellent sounding speakers but....

This is all merely subjective. I would suggest you bring your favorite R&B or Rap cd in to your favorite independant car audio retailer and have a listen to different speakers on the board. You never know, the Bostons may sound like *** to you and you may prefer a brighter set like MB Quart or Kicker resolutions. The choice is yours - go with what sounds best to you.
