Those who have ML system, do you usually listen with the surround turned on or off? I would assume that it is off, but I was experimenting yesterday on the drive home and I noticed that when the surround is ON, it sounds (of course) more balanced than when it's off. However, when the surrounds is turned off, I noticed that the highs seems to be brigher and much louder and the sound in the cabin seems fuller. I assume that's because the surround "balances" the clarity for the sound to seem centered on the passengers. I checked the balance and fade controls and they were all set at center/center. Not a complaint, just an observation. Probably due to having a non-ML stereo in all the previous cars.
