JL is not a rip. Their lower priced subs are not very good, but you get what you pay for. Their higher priced subs, W3V2, W6V2, W7, are excellent. Amps are excellent. I'll put JL subs and amps up against Alpine any day of the week, JL will eat all of Alpine for lunch, unless it's the F1 Status stuff.
i never said i am replacing my system with alpines, i love my rockfords, but i love the alpines as well, also, i have a lot of JL experiance and they are a good sub but not even near worth the money they cost, cut their price in have and it is a good sub...thats all i am trying to say

JL subwoofers are worth every penny. I've used almost all their subwoofers. It's probably my favorite company for subwoofers just because of their reliability and quality. They only seem overpriced because of their MSRP, but who pays MSRP? A lot of delealers are willing to sell a bit under MSRP.

Thanks for all your OPINIONS guys . I greatly appreciate it and will take it all into consideration. Although IMO, the Diamond sub sounded the best out of all i've heard so far. Someone needs to voice their opinioin bout that sub. Thats what i'm leanin towards so far but its about 50% leaning towards the Diamond Audio sub and about 25% JL W3, 20 Image dynamics and well, 5% towards my pre historic pioneer premeir 12"!!!

What are you talking about? It just happens that my post came right after yours. I would have said the same thing even if you hadn't post at all.

Guys, i've been recommended against a rear deck subwoofer. Seems like it would sound good but then theres that voice again that tells me it wont.

How many of you have had success with great sound with installing a sub in the rear deck??

back panels?

I have my sub in my rear deck and it sounds smooth. Yes you lose top end extention, but that's midbass frequency and I have my mids to play midbass.

You wont be able to get the same kind of output in an infinite baffle install as if you were to have a box.

I personally like my bass to hit hard and I totally recommend the 10" JL audio w7. I have these in my silverado pushed by a 1600 watt rockford fosgate amp and man do they hit hard. I have these speakers in a custom make box to fit under my rear seat and these subs are not even getting the required air space they need. Less then 1 cubic ft. I have never heard these speakers cut out at any frequencies, no matter how hard I push them. I have the paint on my side doors lighten because of the excursion that theses speakers up out. Just my .02
