Default igniter

i have this question. i went to circuit *****ty to get an alarm put on my sc300 93 this was a few months back. every since i have had little issues like my clock reseting my amp thump on and off. but anyway i have been doing some work on my car and i noticed that they used the igniter for power and ground for the siren and hood pin. this alarm has never worked right. should i be concerned?

The igniter? Or ignition maybe? It is standard procedure to use the fuse box as a tap for power on alarms.

I personally would be VERY concerned, this installer ( I am one BTW) did not know what they were doing and would be fired from my shop. the prefered place to access power and ignition is the main ignition harness under the dash, as the wires there are of thick enough guage to support add-on accessories, and grounding the siren should be done at the siren, using one of the mounting screws, the hoop pin is self grounding?? or should be?? I personally would not have driven out of the shop until the alarm, etc worked to my satisfaction. This may have meant an extra day of inconvience, but now taking the car back again and again, will stress you out. make sure that the STORE"S general manager is involved, not just the shop manager, and you should get some results.. get what you paid for!!!! PS. did they even put fuses on the power wires?
