I've done a bit of searching to attempt to find the diameter of the stock subwoofer, but I've found conflicting information. I've seen both 8" and 10" as the supposed size, and I just want to clear this up. When I bought the car, it came with a RF 10" sub and a SoundStream amp (in a box in the trunk, looks to be about 1.5 cf). I want to move this into the rear deck if possible.
Thanks for the help.

you can move it to the deck if it is 1. a free air designed sub. 2. its mounting depth is shallow enough not to interfere with the gas tank and 3 if you dont mind that back deck rattling.
oh and the size of the stock sub all depended on the options you got...some received an 8" stock while others got a 10"

Stock is a 10" Make sure you buy a free floating sub or an enclosureless sub. One that does not need to be installed in an enclosure to sound or operate properly. Also make sure the height of the speaker is OK. Too tall and you wont be able to get the grill to fit right after you install the speaker because of the gas tank.

The only cars with 8" subs are those with the early base model Pioneer cassette-only stereos. Both the Pioneer CD and Nakamichi setups have 10" subs.

I can't believe I spaced out on the fact that I'll need an enclosureless sub.
Anyhow, sounds like it'd be more trouble than it's worth. I'll just look into installing some better components w/ an amp. I've got the typical Pioneer system, so there's nothing special about my setup.
Thanks fellas.
