Doors wont unlock with new alarm?
New alarm wont unlock doors But it will lock them.??
I just got a viper alarm,
the door lock switch works on the door, the alarm will lock both doors but
it wont unlock when I press the unlock on the remote.
I took it back to the shop that installed it and he said it is prob. a problem with the door.
could it be one of my door assemblies is messing it up?, but then why would it work on the
inside lock button on the door?
any ideas, I'm all ears.

man, i onno but sounds like a problem I have with my alarm. Its an Alpine alarm and it will unlock the doors, but it wont lock them. everythin in the car works, but the alarm lock em. The stock alarm will lock the doors, but not my alpine one. I called Alpine and they said it was a problem with the installation. He said to check the wires, I havent brought it back to the place that has installed it because I havent had anytime. If anyone knows or has a wiring diagram of the wires for the lock/unlock. please send them my way so I can check my stuff out as well...

Do you still have the stock alarm? I have the Viper 791 and it works in conjunction with my stock alarm.
If my stock alarm is 'locked' then the Viper will not open the doors. It doesn't do it everytime and is a PITA but I still feel better with both sets of alarms working so I'll put up with the inconvenience.

I think it's because of the wiring connection with your door lock/unlock wire's. I recently put in the pro security sr6000 made by DEI and it did the same thing you guys are talking about. I took it back to my installer and he rewired the connection. Now it works fine... The reason why it wasnt working was because he used a T connector, so he took it off and made a solid contact with the connection. Try talking to the guys who installed it, they should know.

check with your installer to see if the alarm was set for "double pulse unlock" (see below)
