Angry Just replaced factory Sub

So I couldn't hold off on the upgrade any longer. I kept my factory stereo, removed the factory sub and purchased installed a Kicker comp 12" Sub and a Kicker amp from Circuit City. Some songs bump real well but I don't think the system is up to par. It sounds like some frequencies just aren't hitting right. Also the output into the cabin doesn't seem as good as it should be.It cost a pretty penny and I'm not sure I got my $$ worth.

Obviously I know very little about all of this. I'd appreciate any advice, recommendations, or suggestions on this. Thanks.

have u checked the amp settings? Also if you are using the original headunit thru a hi-lo adapter you will always have sound loss.

Yeah I played with the amp settings some. I don't notice much when I tweak the frequency ****. My buddy mentioned something about crossover. I don't know much about that either though.

. what amp did you get? is it one or two 12's. using your factory radio you will not get the best sound. i hope ya bought the city advantage plan lol. i work in the roadshop here in my town. i know a little about that stuff. you might want to look into going with the kicker CVR's instead they sound a million time better

that is one crappy amp. Change it. 200 watts max when bridged at 2 ohms is nothing. I would just return the amp and buy online the prices in circuit city for amps are out of this world.

BTW his box measurements are in CM in inches they would be 17.48x15.48x16.08 . Now estimating thickness of would is 3/4 than the interior volume of the box would be 1.88 cubic ft.

agreed. the easy rule of thumb is to get an amp from a major name brand manufacturer of your preference with as many watts RMS as you can afford.

you need a more powerful amp.i know the cvr's are more expensive but they do sound alot better. i would spend the extra money and go with a cvr dual voice coil 4 ohm sub and a 400 too 500 watt mono block amp like the KKR 06ZX4001

How many ohms is your sub wired to??

Also, check what setting your amp is on. OFF/LP/HP Meaning high pass, low pass, a setting for different type of frequencies/bass. Make sure its on LP or OFF.

If its on the off possition, the power is in the hands of your deck, if its in the LP possition, use the frequency **** on your amp.

Low pass is for lower frequencies (Subwoofer type frequencies)

Someone correct me if i'm wrong because i got my facts straight just today

Low pass is for lower frequencies
