the alpine amp i got has this square connector for connection to alpine decks
looking at the pioneer wiring diagram, it looks like the sub wires are in a square plug too
just be chance, is the pioneer plugs compatible with alpine amp plugs?
if so, i wont need an LLC eh?
i havent got the time to actually look at the stock amp in the car yet
is there a guide with pics somewhere here on CL?
and where should i connect the remote wire to?
since there is no power antenna like on the SC3/4, whats the best wire to hook it up to?
i got the A/D/S A10S btw
single 4 ohms
construction looks great, cast metal for frame and support
cant wait to get it installed when ive got time in mid august
and btw is the 2000 GS pioneer wiring diagram the same as 2001's?
mine is pioneer with navigation
thanx a lot in advance

14awg is fine. 12 is overkill for speakers. 16 will still be enough, but if you're wanting headroom, 14awg is the way to go. I have 14awg for my mids and 16awg for my tweeters. My sub gets the 12awg treatment because I had some left overs

im contemplating whether to try and install it myself and have a friend help me or send it to the shop and get it done professionally
the thing is, my GS has stock nav
so where should i connect LLC to?
also where should i run the turn-on wire for amp to?
i think the NAV computer in the trunk has a green wire that would be suitable to tap into but i normally have nav disabled
only trip computer on
so how should i go about wiring it
or would it be too much of a challenge for me?
how long would it take?
i live in an apartment so car is parked in underground garage so if im to do it myself, ill have to gget it done within a day

one thing, if i want to keep the capability of selecting the SPL of sub thru my stock deck (nav screen), should i hook up LLC to stock amp or to the stock deck?

You can't hook it up the stock deck since the stock head unit doesn't put out a seperate subwoofer signal.
This is the point where I say that it's just best to take it to a shop and tell them what you want. Let them worry about how to make it work.

Don't buy used parts for something that you want to have work for more than 5 minutes.
Did you not understand the meaning of an LLC? It's a "LEVEL LINE CONVERTER". That means, it takes the high level (amplified) inputs and converts them to low level (RCA) inputs.
And an LLC is about $20 from any reputable shop. If you feel the need to save $5 on a piece of your stereo, you shouldn't be modifying your car period.
But that's just my opinion.

ok well i dont need the LLC anyways
it turns out that the amp has high level speaker inputs
i just need to solder the wires running to the stock sub into a plug and plug that in
thats all
very interesting that computer's 4 pin power plug is the same as this speaker input plug
