Default Older stereo bluetooth conversion?

I've got a 2000 GS3 with the premium sound system and was wondering if its at all possible to buy a reciever of some kind that reacts to an incoming call on my phone, signals the stereo to cut out, and contains a microphone... is this even possible, or buying a new deck with bluetooth is my only option? thanks

the parrot (sp?) piece will work, or there's a piece by a company called Myron and Davis that should work as well. I think the M&D piece is a BT100 or something like that. i'll check tomorrow at work

If your 2000 GS was wired for a cell phone like my 2000 LS, then there is a six pin connector (2 rows of 3 pins) on the driver's side under the rear of the center console (meant for the dealer installed phone) that contains a mute pin and power. On my 00 LS, the mute pin is the front middle pin -- you can verify this with a cheap unpowered 12 volt test light. I just "plugged" the mute wire from my phone kit into the front middle pin and secured it with a plastic wire tie. The audio system mutes when a call is made or received.

The nice thing about using the OEM phone harness to connect an aftermarket phone kit is that you don't have to remove the radio or cut any wires.

PM me if you want more information.
