Default 2005 DVD for Navi out

I was wondering if anyone has picked up and installed the 2005 DVD that's available.

What features do I get with it and in your opinion, is it worth the 280 the dealers want for it?

I can tell you that you at least get an updated map database, and an updated points-of-interest database. There's probably more as well. Whether it is worth it or not depends on how you use it - if you only use it a little, may not be worth it. If you are a heavy user, and you need complete updated info, then it's worth it. It's hard to predict whether you will need/like/want the updated info.

ok, thanks. That all makes sense, I think I want it because I want it to be up to date, as long as it doesnt come with any of those new fangled controls like not being able to use it while driving.

Your response helped me think about it a bit, thanks.

The 'not being able to use it while driving' is tied to the hardware, not the DVD.

Not worth it. I have it. Keep the orriginal. Biggest differance is the map and the little icons are cooler. Other than that, it's not worth it.

It's worth it out here in AZ because of all the growth, there is new freeways and shopping centers/homes all the time.
