Can the '01-'05 nav hack trick still work if I get the current $150 nav update DVD?
I'm planning to buy the most current update DVD, only because my dealer's parts guy
knocked the price down to $150.(too good a deal to pass up)
However, I'm wondering if the nav hack will still work with the newer update DVD?
(like Lexus closing this loophole or something)
Thanks for any info!
Below is the thread where I learned the hack:
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/showthread.php?t=174036&page=1&pp=15&highlight=video+navigation+screen'
(thread from last year)
It works perfectly in my '01 RX300. Before I drive off, I simply do the following on the nav screen
while vehicle is still stopped:
(1) press "MENU" button
(2) press "System Option" on screen
(3) press top-left corner of screen
(4) press bottom-left corner of screen
(5) press top-left corner of screen
(6) press bottom-left corner of screen
(7) press bottom-right corner of screen
(8) press "OVERRIDE" in the new menu
(9) press "BACK"
After that, the nav system will allow all functions that were previously locked out(blank) while
driving. This neans the passenger can enter a new address or search a new POI even when
the vehicle is moving. I never enter the new address myself while drivin as this is too
distracting. When the engine is turne off, the hack is reset and has to be performed again
after the engine is stared again.

I'm a little confused.... I have the 2001 RX300.
The nav system is English-only and it has never been replaced. However, there is indeed a
"OVERRIDE DRIVE" button after following the above procedure... It works fine
and all the functions are usable while driving.

your right it even works on the 2nd genration computer. 86841-47020 i thought it didnt start until the third genration 86841-33060. changing the dvd wont affect the overide button. its in the computers memory not the dvd disc.

Nav Override
It will work, and here is a link to a video showing the process. It unlocks the phone and nav functions while the car is in motion.
