a really good application for a free air sub in the GS i a Boston G110, fits very nice in the opening and sounds great off of a small wattage amp. the Boston also has a nice rubber seal around the mounting holes in the sub, so no need to seal for good sound

Recommended Enclosure
0.5ft ³ (14.2 L) volume sealed
For a G110.
This is not an infinite baffle sub.
I would recommend listening between this SUB or any infinite baffle sub against a sealed or ported box.
Sealed is tighter bass.

The factory amp does not have enough power to push most aftermarket subwoofers. Keep in mind that the OEM subwoofer was built for sensitivity to run off of the OEM power. Most aftermarket subwoofers require more power.
You can power the Kicker C10 with the OEM amp, but you will probably not be very happy with the output. In fact, the output might even be less.

Great idea Engin Ear. However, this all assumes one has removed the stock 2GS IB subwoofer.
I assume there is no easier way around removing the stock top mounted IB subwoofer accept to go through the whole 'removing the back seat to access the packaging shelf' routine described elsewhere...?

time to resurrect it again lol
I seached, but may have overlooked, so my apologies in advance for asking if this is already answered somewhere.
What is OEM subwoofer wattage?
What is OEM non ML stereo wattage sent to sub? (also curious about other channels power as well) The reason I ask this is I have a high level to low level converter so i can use stock stereo with an amp.... but it can only handle 50 watts.
really hate to ask a total newb question, but its been a few years since i built a sub box.... what is MDF board? I saw what it looks like, but if I go to Home Depot or Lowes, can i just ask for MDF board? or does it go by another name?
Other than the Kicker C10.... are there any other recommendations for a good sub, that is competitively priced? The Kicker C10 can still be bought for around $45-60 online.
Thanks for the help. and Sorry again for any duplication of questions
