Im thinking about purchasing an IS350 in the fall, and I'm wondering if I purchase the center dash piece that is made for the factory nav will an aftermarket fit that location. if i had the car i could check but has anyone thought or tried this. I checked on the center dash piece and cost is $350

i plan on going completly after market.... its just better!

thanks

what are you going to do with the Radio and Climate controls that are on the factory nav? Might be easier to pay the extra 2550 for the factory nav.

I took apart my dash, the center dash piece is 1 part and the AC control/clock/stereo controller seems to be one piece as well. The actual stereo/CD changer is seperate at the bottom. Didn't take apart the center piece to see if its seperate underneath however.

Its a design clearly ment to prevent aftermarket installs, if you decide to buy a center dash piece and take it fully apart post up some photos or PM me, I'd love to see if they are seperate units underneath which means that they could be rearranged with the radio display portion removed and then a new center dash piece fabricated that would easily fit 3-4 din worth of equipment.
