Sub Ohms on GS300
Does anyone know what's the ohm spec output coming from a stock headunit on a 2000 GS300 (Non-Nakamichi) into the cables where the sub is? I want to install a seperate amp with new subs. Thanks.

Ohm reading is defined by the speaker, not the amplifier. Amplifiers are rated at different ohm loads and to be stable to certain ohm loads.
Grab the audio signal from the wires that connect to the sub itself and run that to the new amplifier. You'll probably need a line level converter unless you buy an amp with high level inputs.

AZ thanks for your reply. Are the speaker cbales running to the sub already ampliefied by the stock setup?
I will try your recommendation to hook up the cables to the new amp to see what I get. Any ideas where can I get juice for the amp? Or do I necessarily need to run a power cable all the way to the battery?
Thanks for your help and advice.

The wire running to the sub is already amplified. But don't worry. It's not a huge amplifier so it really shouldn't be too much of an issue.
For power for the amp, you'll want to run a new power cable. The negative can be grabbed from any solid body metal contact point wherever you choose to mount it.
