How Do I Use The Built In Garage Door Opener
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME FIGURE OUT HOW TO USE THE BUILT IN GARAGE DOOR OPENER ON MY 98 GS400. I HAVE A REMOTE THAT CAME WITH THE OPENER BUT WANT TO PROGRAM IT IN THE BUILT IN ONE IN MY GS. SO IF ANYONE CAN HELP LET ME KNOW SOMETHING, THE SOONER THE BETTER........THANKS

to program the garage door openeryou need to do a couple of things,follow the instructions in the manual, if you don't have the manual these are the steps as far as i can remember.Hold the remote unit within 1 inch of the button you choose to use as the door opener and hold down the button of the door opener, at the time squeese in the button you have choosen.The light should flash for awile then go steady, when it goes steady release both butons.The next step is going to require the garage door opener manual,go to the section about learning additional remote units.this part is best done with two people but it is managable by one.If you have a GENIE door opener, there is a button on the unit that you press inorder the learn the new code.This button is located on the head unit.to find it you remove thefront smoke plastin lens covering the bulbs,the button is either in the upper left or lower left of the mounting plate, if memory serves me correctly you need to hold down the selected button in the car untill the light starts to blink rapidly then press the learn swith on the door opener withing 15sec (i think) that light will also start to blink, when the light stop blinking and stays solid it means it has learned the code and can be opened from your car.
go on ahead give it a shot, i'll review this info when i get home if there are any corrections to this procedure i'll post then later when i get home
