Listen to some Dynaudio speakers. Then listen to the ML speakers. You'll trash the ML speakers.

Most accurate that I've heard so far, especially on vocals. Give them an audition.

Amp them, then determine if you need better quality . . . I just installed the Alpine PDX 4150 (4 x 150w RMS) in my LS430 and the ML highs & mids sound absolutely great! Not a bad statement considering I've been into car audio for the past 13 years and have owned virtually all brands of equipment (except Dynaudio--they're probably a nice component as well).

What's the worst that could happen? You probably need another amplifier to power high quality aftermarket mids/highs. Simply make the decision after you install a high powered amplifier to run them

You'll need to make a custom baffle board and check for clearances to make sure the magnet doesn't hit the window when it's down. Well worth the effort.

The "stock" ML LS430 system already sounds pretty darn good to start off with. In the GS, even when equipped with ML, they're crap.

Hmmm . . . that sucks. My installer was floored with the sound that the ML speakers exerted when connected to the PDX 4.150. Grant it, it's 150w rms, but the mid bass and highs are incredible.

Good luck on the GS.

Different driver complement with the LS than with the GS. LS is their showpiece...they HAVE to make it good. GS they can slop on the sound quite a bit. If you get a chance, listen to the GS ML - you'll agree with me.

Percy, have you ever heard CDT comps or 6.5" they are also audiophile speakers, I got them installed in my GS, they sound amazing but I use stock headunit with Audiocontrol converter, my sig has my stuff on it.. CDT make comps for $2500 also. I am getting AVN5435 to complete the package. I do agree Dynaudio are great speakers if not the best, I love soft highs and soft dome tweeters, nice warm and sweet audiophile sound. I have home audio set up to compare it to, well thats another story. But I am very impressed with CDT.. Focal home audio speakers are probably one of the nicest I heard and I think they won the most awards for Class A speaker, I am talking about Utopia's ($70k sticker) but there car audio speakers are harsh heard and sound very tingy due to metal tweeters. If I had the money i would go for Dyn's but CDT's were great substitute.

Haven't listened to them personally, but they have been getting some good reviews here.
