Default JL Components vs. Alpine Coxials....?

i have a set of JL components hooked up to a JL 300.4 and i noticed it doesnt sound as loud and clear as my Alpine Coxials by themselves even without an amp... i notice my JL lacks midbass.. is there somehting wrong here?

Yup, it certainly depends on what components to what coaxials but I still have to beleive the components shoudl sound better if tuned properly. I have JL components and they sound great.

XR's are softer in nature, especially with the silk dome tweeter. JL's components just seem to be softer in general. I love their ZR components

PHP Code:

Actually the XR are titanium dome tweeter and very bright. The VR are silk dome and softer in sound. I have the ZR which are awesome!

But the XR should sound much better than the alpine r coaxials. I would check all the settings on the amp.
