Default Weird CD Changer problem. Overheating!??

I have a 98 GS400 and the CD changer works fine when I drive it around town. However, I took it on a road trip and it would automatically eject the cartridge after playing for a couple of hours. After popping it back in it would play for about a minute then do the same thing. However, if I let it "cool off" it plays fine again. Weird... I've never heard of a CD changer "overheating" and having a safety feature like that. So does this mean I can't use the changer on long road trips? If so, no biggie. Just wanted to double check.

Thanks!
