Stock Phone, can it work at home?
Well it came from my SC so i post my question here. Ok so heres my question: I have a Lexus stock phone from a 92. The connection for the phone is that of a ethernet connection. I know its an analog, and thats about all i know about it, but i tried connecting it to my router to see if it powers up, no go.
This question is basically to all the electronic heads out there, is it possible to make the Lexus stock phone to work at home? I kinda wanna get it to work in my room, i think it would look pretty cool. Any input would be appreciated.

What about activation in the car? how much would it be? worth it? I think it would be kinda fun rambling on to somebody in the car while the person next to me thinks I have problems

I'm not sure if thats possible anymore. My phone was activated back in 2002 when I first got the car by cingular. I think verizon MAY have been able to do it... however you have realize they are no longer good phones as analog cellular towers are being removed rapidly and are expected to disapear completely by like 2008.
In any case... mine is a prepaid account... 10cents night/weekend, and 35 cents daytime. This works fine, however, once this phone expires and they terminate it, they can no longer activate these. i was informed of this back in 2004 when I had mine reactivated after a period of no use. The technician said to keep it going from now on... they wont be able to do these anymore.
So I have to dump a $20 calling card into this thing every three months to keep it alive... and thats the price of being able to look insane to others driving around me. Chances are you will not be able to activate yours, but it might be worth a try... they are cool.
