gotta love a navi unit with ACTUALLY decent 5volt outputs

especially when you match them up with nice amps like a 300/4 and 500/1 you're going to get a much better sound out of your amps
To be honest, the output levels are not what they're advertised to be. Better than most, but I added a pair of AudioControl Overdrive line drivers, and that really improved the dynamics of the sound, and noise level. If you run the 6600 outputs right into amps, it might not make as much of a difference, but with the DQXS EQ, it didn't like the input level. I couldn't get the level up high enough to generate good levels out of the EQ without having to crank up the EQ input gains all the way up. This is bad for S/N.

Congratulations Jerry on getting this done!!!

The install looks very clean and professional! You guys with these DIY skills never cease to amaze me.

Is the Nav the latest and greatest from Eclipse? Got any pics of your trunk setup? I'd love to see how you laid out the amps etc. Unless it is the same as the ones you shared before earlier this year.

Thanks Hameed. The amps and speakers haven't changed or moved. Still using the same amp rack, except now I have a 30 band EQ mounted to the sub enclosure, and feeding the amps. I'll take a pic of that. Just finished sound deadening and getting it back together.
Hopefully we will meet up again at Lexfest '07!

Ha, Ha - I'm so happy...I just picked up the 6600!
The ipod kit is awesome, was the main reason why I bought it.
I'm actually thinking of getting the HD radio module.
Engin_ear: sorry I have no intentions of doing a hijack - it didn't want to create a new thread just for this.
There goes my new Morel speakers

That looks all too familiar. Just finished installing my sub box two weeks ago. All that extra crap to remove to run the RCAs and power. What a PITA.

Curious if you have more pictures of your sub and box from inside the trunk, and if you removed any insullation or if you just have the sub firing through the original speaker hole.

I ended up building a wedge shaped box with the subs firing into the rear deck. Problem is they don't produce enough sound with the insullation in the way. They sound so much better with the trunk open.

Think they have something for a 93 LS400?

Pics of that part of my installation are from 2002. They are in the Member Gallery, look under username 'engin_ear'. There are pics of my sub box, the IDMAX 12", the mounting in the trunk, etc. (Once you get past the Supra pics in there...)

Contact Luis Salazar (screen name Carson-Lex) or Steve Ganz (SUPRATRD) and ask them directly. They are vendors (Carson Toyota) on here and provide excellent service!
