Default Not for the faint of heart...(56k no-no)

Well, here's a few pics finally. I gutted the front end of my system from headunit to amp inputs. Didn't touch amp 4ga power wiring & cap, JL amps, Dyn/Focal speakers, IDMAX12 woofer. Ripped out Lexus/Nakamichi headunit & CD Changer, AudioControl four.1i EQ, Clarion Sirius Tuner & Controller, Canare Interconnects

Added:
Eclipse AVN6600 Nav/CD/DVD Headunit
Eclipse 8-CD Changer
Eclipse iPod controller
Eclipse/Sirius Tuner
AudioControl EPIC-160 Bass Enhancement Processor
(2) AudioControl OverDrives
Audio Control DDC
Audio Control DQXS 30-band Digital EQ
MonsterCable 400-series XLN Preamp Interconnects
New power/ground wiring for above subsystem
TEIN EDFC (while I had the dash apart)

Install pics follow. The system is single-point grounded, and dual-point powered. (One system ground, but two individual power paths from battery - one 8ga for headunit, processors, EQ, Sirius, iPod - one 4ga for amps/cap.) The result is stable power for all preamp-level units, with no voltage drop from amp bass current hits.
Jerry

1) Right side dash - a freakin' mess

looks great

how do you like your 6600?

i'm very glad that I waited for it to come out as opposed to just going with the 5500 or the 5495

Thanks.
Me likey. Has a few quirks, like in Sirius mode, you have to keep putting it back into Artist/Title mode after keying in a new channel #. Sounds awesome though.

Nice! it reminds me of my days of installing.
Like what 88Supramki said, how do you like the 6600?
I'm actually thinking of getting it.

BTW, is that a custom HU trim piece or a pre-made kit? it matches perfectly

It's actually a Toyota-Japan factory part for a double-din headunit. Got it from Carson Toyota. Has strong metal sides too (to hold the unit), and the faceplate clips in. Much better than the plastic kits.

yeah there are a few quirks in it. but all in all it's a great unit. i love the ipod control and ease of navigation, along with the dvd capability while having navigation going at the same time.

gotta love a navi unit with ACTUALLY decent 5volt outputs

especially when you match them up with nice amps like a 300/4 and 500/1 you're going to get a much better sound out of your amps

I cut a piece of 1/2" MDF to the shape I needed, then sanded, primed, sanded, painted, sanded, painted...
