Will the sound system still work if the CD player/changer is removed?

Will the sound system still work if the CD player/changer is removed?
Like the title says...I purchased a 92 sc400 that has the cd changer/player removed from the trunk before I purchased it. Ever since I had it, the sound system was dead. Im planning on switching out the radio (burned) and the amp (burned) soon and I wanted to know if its ok to just let the wires for the cd player/changer to just hang out in the trunk, not connected to anything.

Perfectly fine..plus if you are going to with a aftermarket, your new HU has to have the lexus fitting adapter for the changer so anyways you will not be needing the wires..
Rather than taking the CD changer wires apart You can just tape them and hide it somewhere in your trunk.
Your new HU should play musics without the CD changer wire connected. (assumming all your speakers are not burned
)
