Howdy,
The stock alarm on my 2001 GS 430 has been acting very odd lately. There are three main issues that I've noticed:
1) Sometimes, when I lock my car with the remote, I can hear the car doors lock, but there is no audible "beep".
2) Other times, when I lock my car with the remote, I hear the audible beep, only to be followed by another audible beep a few seconds later. While I thought that this "second" follw-up beep indicated that a door was ajar, I have experienced this multiple times and each time confirmed that each door and the trunk was securely shut.
3) Lastly, there are times when I will hit unlock on the remote twice to unlock all of the doors, but there will be a "third" beep. This might be to signify that someone has tampered with my car, but this happens so frequently (in my secure garage no less, as well as in other areas) that I'm positive that my alarm is not getting set off that much.
I've replicated this issue with both of the remotes that I have am at a loss. These problems never surfaced in the past three years in which I've owned the car until about a month ago. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Best regards,
Patrick

When I experience random beeps and lack of beeps, it usually means one or more of the doors failed to lock or unlock correctly. Usually indicative of a future door lock actuator failure.
