First off, a bigger battery won't prevent it from being drained. What you would need to do is upgrade the charging system and/or add deep cycle marine batteries.

BUT, you are just upgrading your head unit. No need to change anything. Doubtful it will be drawing anymore power than the stocker.

If you add additional amps, then you need to start looking at alternatives.

Also, another alternative to consider if you were to move up the power-draw-ladder is a capacitor.

Physically, there's nothing bigger than an Sc battery. Most people don't have their OEM battery and have never seen it. I have, and it's about the size of a caterpillar battery.

Plenty of reserve too. Costly at the dealer, but worth it, it's a helluva battery.

If you just only change your head unit you don't need to change anything. But if you add an amp and sub, you would definitely want to add a capcitator with it.

My big stock battery keeps on dying every couple of days so It needs replacing. Anybody know if a standard group 24/78 battery will fit with top posts? I will be using an Exide Orbital Extreme starting battery for this application.
