I installed a Alpine cva-1004 (yes i know its a old model) in my 99 gs300, don't know if i wired up my speakers right but when turning up the volume to like 20 or 22 the speaker cuts off and makes a terrible break up noise. Sometimes the speakers will just cut off to atleast 2 seconds. Why is this? How do you guys wire the speaker from the HU also what about the stock amp thats in the car? Bypass?

remove the amp? also the other thing i tried was just wiring the speaker wires from the HU straight directly to the wires that goes to the speaker. The amp was not involved with that one (caused me to cut the line from the amp to the speaker where the plugs goes). still does the same thing

speakers might be grounding out? fade/balance to each speaker separately and turn it up. if the one you fade/balace to doesn't cause it to cut out, its not that speaker. if the one you fade/balance to causes it to cut out, its that speaker. completely check that speakers wiring.

if i check one by one by fading and balancing they all sound good my volume can go up to 25, but if all 4 are going then i can only turn up to 20, i mean they are loud, but i was hoping to go louder, but at the same time they breakup and cut out. My speaker wires are good they are new and i bypassed it with the stock amp.
speakers are fine they are not blown, the HU is fine also nothing is wrong with it.

Yea it sounds like your speakers are blown. One possibilty is that your amp is set too high and when you turn up your receiver to about 20-22, your speakers can't handle it so they shut off preventing it to get blown. Lots of possbilities. You just gotta go back and rehook em'. Amp, receiver, speaker, speaker wire. Also remember to use good speaker wire and their right gauges.

you may be overpowering the stock amp with the new stereos signals.
Ditch the stock amp and run the speakers off the new head unit.
BTW: You CANNOT run the sub off a head unit. No way. No how.
