I just installed a set of 6.5" Infinity Reference Components in the front, and 6.5" 2-ways in the rear doors. They sound great but I don't think the stock amp has enough juice to really power them up. With a CD playing they sound okay - but for some reason the radio isn't as loud and the sound begins to distort when turned up.

So - if I want to keep the stock sub can I just get a 4 channel amp to power the door speakers - and the stock sub amp will power the sub? (Is there a stock sub amp?)

OR... do I need a new 4 channel amp and a new sub amp?

OR, do I need a 5 channel amp to power everything?

And, do I really need an EQ to balance it all out or can the amps do that pretty well?

there is only one amp that powers everything. do you still have the stock radio?

Yes, I still have the stock radio. I want to keep the stock radio ( I have Nav).

So, if there is only one amp stock then I probably need to get a 5 channel to run all the speakers?

are u planning on doing this your self? i think u might have to pick up the signal after the stock amp because your changer and everything else hooks up to it. plus i think is the brain of the system as well.
