if you did, with what size of / kind of speakers?
reason i ask is because am not sure if i should get bigger speakers or not.
plus if am going to get some bigger ones, i would like to know what others got because of the depth / window hitting speaker problem.

I would definitely switch out the stock speakers. While an aftermarket deck will make your stock speakers sound much better, aftermarket speakers(good or decent ones at least) will totally blow away your stock speakers.

i have a Z1 and my stocks sound great. if i want my mids to sound better i would have to spend at least a grand to even hear the diffrence. i think a good eq makes a big diffrences on stock speakers, it did for me. i have a set of bostons laying around because i don't see the point in changing the stocks out. ONLY IF YOU HAVE A SUB UPGRADE DONE, NO BASS WHAT SO EVER COMING FROM MIDS. but some people need more, it's all up to the individual.

for those who retained the stock speakers, did you use an external amp for them or just powered them with the a/market headunit?

am hoping someone will chime in here rather than me starting a new thread.
Can someone please(i have searched and searched) tell me the RMS and Max amount of watts for the stock pioneer speakers? i want to know what it is compared to the a/market listed below that take about 35-45RMS.
AND
If i just take out the stock speakers and i drop a set of 4" infinity reference4012I 4" 2-WAY COAXIAL SPEAKERS or MB Quart 4"or Bosto Acoustics 4" in their place, will the stock tweeters still function?
