Default Are all 03.1, 04.1 05.1 and 06.1 DVD compatible in gen2/3 navi?

ive been looking at this
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Toyot...QQcmdZViewItem

looks like i should jump on it but is the 0X.1 means that they are all compatible with gen2/3 and that 0X.2 means they are for gen 4?

thanks in advance

there are 3 totally different sets of 5.1 AND 6.1 and none of the generations are cross compatible. the easiet way to shop on ebay is to view the bigger number about 2 oclock on the disc. the one you left a prompt for has a large numbers U30 at 2 oclock on the disc, that means it is generation 5 disc 5.1. the 2007 model year 6.1 has a U31. the 4th gneration 5.1 has the number U20 and the number U21 is on the 6.1 4th generation. what you are looking for is the 2nd and 3rd generation 5.1 disc with a W00 at 2 oclock. 6.1 has W01. they are harder to find on ebaY AND USUALLY COST MORE THAN THE NEWER 4TH AND 5TH GENERATION DISCS. remember there are a lot of counterfeit discs floating around. the gold leaf effect on the original disc comes out a flat yellow color on the counterfet copies but you cant tell uintill you get it. also the mirror finish of the dvd disc is not a silver color like the originals but has a purple cast to the burner surface. . so it is good to ask the ebay seller if its an original before you bid.

yes genration 2 and 3 are in the same sub set and can use the same discs. but 4th and 5th all different. the 2nd and 3rd genration 1.1 2.1 3.1 and 4.1 all have horizontal lines on bottom half of the disc so are also easy to spot on ebay pictures. i also i would like infrom as public safety announcemment the 2 recalls lexus has had on gps map discs. ..................................................... the 3.1 4th genration disc (9 red dots at 7 oclock)was recalled (referred to by dealers as recall lsc 4lg )and replaced with the 4.2 4th genration disc. it had lexus drivers turning down 1 way steets in certain cities but not all cities. the 5th genration 5.1 disc you almost bid on with the u30 number at 2 oclock was recalled on novenber 15th and is being replaced by the 5th generation 6.1 with the U31. THE 5.1 U30 had driver cursor up to 30 miles away from actual car location in certain areas of the country. so far this has only been the 5th generation U30 not the 5.1 4th gernation U20 or the 5.1 2 and 3 generation U00. .............................................................so the 5th genenation U30 discs will flood the market as they are replaced in the recall. i say this in just in case your wondering why the 2nd and 3rd generation discs are going for $259.00 and the 5.1 U30 5th generation discs are going to be going for $25.00 as a result of this post.i hate to see lexus owners 30 miles off course so i am publicizing it here on clublexus. last year i had emailed several of the major ebay sellers of the recalled 4th generation 3.1 discs .i told them they were selling defective and possibly a dangerous disc and they told me to mind my own business. since the sellers have no caring on the subject i will warn the potential buyers here on club lexus.

crap i got outbid so fast
like 2 ppl hired auction snipers...
it jumped up from 128 to 200 in 1 minute

btw why arent there any gen2/3 updates in 2004?
i couldnt find any on ebay anyways
and looks like all the 2005 ones are gone
ill have to settle for 2003 then for around 150 shipped, is that a fair price?
are there a lot of changes btwn 2003 to 2005 for canada or firmware changes to make the nav ECU and HU better?

and again, thank you very much in advance, lexusaudio
you have been very helpful!
