I'm interested in utilizing the OEM Nav screen for backup camera display in my 04 GX470. I purchased a G-Net unit that will incorporate this feature with the existing Nav screen while providing an additional AV input. This will allow automatic backup camera to be displayed when in reverse. I will also connect a Blaupunkt DVD player with built-in TV tuner to the AV input. Best of all, it's plug-and-play.
Has anyone attempted such modification?

both the audio and video on the gnet unit are using non direct inputs subject to interference. instead of using the 6 pin direct video input on the back of the screen this unit taps the 10 pin rgb port thereby causing interference to the gps computer to screen video quality. also the aftermarket dvd player audio output will come in by fm modulatror to headunit also very poor quality subject to interference. the direct input to gx amp would be though the 12 pin cd changer port on the radio. so both audio and video would be of low quality and subject to interfence.
