Default 2006 Lexus with XM Radio

Does anyone else have a 2006 Lexus (any model) with an XM Radio? I got mine installed after I took delivery of the car only to find that the antenna looks like a black wart on the side of the trunk. Am I the only one that finds this to be totally unacceptable? I think it is crap that Lexus is willing to put out such a sophmoric looking installation job on an otherwise wonderful car.

Duh... I know it is the antenna. I am just complaining about the terrible installation job.

what did you want? a cool one built into the windshield?

if it's that "terrible", take it back to them and have them fix it.

FWIW--ES 350 owners w/ factory XM have had success with the XM antenna mounted/located/installed somewhat inconspicuously inside on the rear shelf near the base of the rear glass w/o any reception issues.

What I want is a professional looking installation job, much like the one that is provided by Honda, Toyota, Nissan, BMW, Mercedes, etc...

BTW... it IS that terrible and I have taken it back to them to fix it. But thanks for the constructive advice anyway.

They are doing that for me now. However, the sevice manager advises me that I will loose about 50% of the reception with this installation. The reception with the antenna mounted on the trunk is already sub-par when compared to my Honda and Chevrolet with factor/dealer installed XM. Any further signal degredation is going to be unacceptable.

I had XM dealer-installed and I had them put the antenna on the rear shelf next to the brake light. Reception is fine.
