Default CD Changer problems any alternatives?

recently i purchased my sc400... My cd changer worked for the frist day untill i put in a Cdrw and then it stoped.. i eventually got it out but now the cd changer doesnt work at all... the stock head unit wont even find it. Can i replace the CD changer with an aftermarket one ? would i need to get a converter cable?

I had the same problem with my cd changer. From searching and trying to find a fix, I found out the only way to use an aftermarket cd changer was with an fm modulator. Another option was to use a cd changer from a 96 and below es300, preferably a 96. I went with the 96 es300 cd changer and haven't had any problems. Sure its only a 6 disc changer, but heard it loads cd's alot quicker and has better anti-skip cpabilities than the stock sc changer. Hope this helps and if anybody else has had luck with an aftermarket cd changer working with the stock wiring maybe they can chime in but I'm pretty sure it won't work.

Eww... The stock CD changer doesn't like burned CDs. You're better off getting an aftermarket double din radio

Yeah, the 96 es300 changer will bolt right up with the stock sc changer harness and it also plays burnt cd's fine.

My Naki. 12 disc will not play burnt cds either, so I need to get a 96 es300 changer? Does it matter if it is Pioneer or whatever else was available for the es? Also what would the production date be for a 96 es300, or a model number if you have it?

Thanks

Default There is a good alternative

I had forgotton just how far back that I installed the ES300 cd-changer.
Look at this thread: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=157800

It has been working perfectly since I put it in and I am very pleased with it.
I was so worried about loosing another cd-changer that I bought a spare ES300 cd-changer. It is for sale for $150.00 shipped any where in the continental US.
Let me know if you are interested.
