Thanks for the input guys!
What impedence load does the 10 inch W7 run at? 2 ohms I do believe. I will be running this in a sealed MDF box w/ removed stock sub.
I will also be running a PPI PC440 (50 x 4 watts @ 4 ohms) to my "premium" (non-ML/non-Nak) speakers. Is this too much power?

Nothing beats a Kappa Perfect for sq and output combined. I don't even think an Image Dynamics IDQ sounds as clean, plays as high, low, and tight all at the same time.
Crutchfield has 942 Kappa Perfect's left at $180 shipped per pair-- with a 3 yr warranty. Do a little research, they're the baddest they ever was--
I know my **** btw-- my site

10W7 is a 3 ohm woofer....and that's all it can be set up for, seeing as it's a single voicecoil woofer. The only way "get it lower" is to bridge a 2 channel amplifier so that the amp sees half of the woofer's impedance. The 13.5's are dual 1.5's
that's why it works so well with a JL 500/1 because it gives you 500watts anywhere from 1.5-4 ohms
no offense to you, but I can't help but smell a decent amount of bias in that statement. I'm sure the Kappa Perfects are good, but not the best...granted "best" is in the ear of the listener

well if the owner's manual is correct it should be more than enough. It says it should be 710 watts x 1 @ 4ohms...but you're not going to be at a 4ohm load. If you amp is up to the task then it should be able to push it, only problem is your amp is going to be seeing a 1.5ohm load which is a pretty hefty load regardless of your amplifier. Even now there aren't TOO many amps that can truely handle a continuous ~1ohm final impedance.

What should I replace the stock 2001 LS 430 Mark Levinson Sub with? Mine just blew out! A replacement is $500 from the dealer. I really just want to have the same sound quality as the stock system.
Thanks!
Thanks!

a W7 will be a substantial amount louder from a stock sub set up. I suggest getting a decent quality 10 w/ something like a 200-300 watt amp to power it so that it doesn't over power the rest of your system.

i use to blow my mtx thunder like once a year, running at 1 ohm, but that had warranty and all i had to do was take back. wish this amp was still under warranty. then i would try it.
