Default 93 SC300 any way to add audible confirmation to keyless entry?

Is there any DIY or way to add audible or visual confirmation when the factory keyless entry is used like in the 95+? I find it kind of annoying to listen for the doors to lock/unlock for confirmation. Any inexpensive ideas out there?

i want to know too. actually, i'd rather make the parking lights blink as oppose to having the horn honk.

Aftermarket alarm.

My Clifford system makes all the noises you could ever want and it arms the stock system as well.

You also get other fancy options like window operation, sunroof, and trunk pop all from the remote.

Yea thats a more expensive idea that is always an option. Any other ideas out there to add to the factory system?

I'd be interested too. We have a 95 ES 300 and a 05 RX 330--both make noise--I was surprised when I bought the 93 SC 400 no noise. Doesn't work right now either--but that is another issue.

Kind of interesting that other models of the same year (my 93 GS300) do have audible confirmation (of the horn), on lock/unlock.

if your horn honks when you lock or unlock the doors, there's an aftermarket unit in there... lexus and toyota never had horn honking keyless entry... only nissan and honda...

Are you sure? My system works with the stock Lexus key, and yes, the horn beeps. Is it still possible it is aftermarket?

Parking Light Flash

You need 2 relays -- When the locks pulse -- have the signal trip a relay that blinks the parking lights-- you can tap into the parking lights from the column-- A relay per side (ie: lock pulse= 1 relay, unlock pulse= 1 relay) A site like Audiovox should have your wiring diagram -- but others do too-- just haven't checked--

This mod = $10 for 2 relays from a junkyard-- I know the nissan blue relay is a single throw single pole-- which is all you need--

-Audible Confirmation-

This gets interesting and humurous (for me) --

The same relays tapped to the lock/unlock pulses can also power a 12v buzzer/beeper/or your horn- ( I'm not sure on the length of the lock/unlock pulses-- some cars are like 2 seconds, which is sorta long to be honking the horn-- but not too bad to beep like the common toyota beep)

The Toyota Beep

Everyne loves that sophisticated toyota/lexus unlock/lock beep, and if you find a model of car that has the beep you like, next just search the correlating forum (ie:rx330 or whatever) for how to change the beeper-- This will not only tell you how to find it, it will tell you how to connect it and all that great stuff -- That way you can call the local LKQ and get the beeper from them--

OR-- you could always just buy the beep module new from toyota -- it's probably not that bad--

Any of the Cliffords will do it. There's many options so just go over the website and pick the one that fits your particular tastes.
