Trying to find something that can go in the rear deck of my GS to replace the factory sub.
Edit: title should say shallow mount, sorry

Is the c10 just the kicker comp 10 or is it a specific free air sub? Do you know if there is room to mount normal sized woofers with bigger than stock magnets and baskets? I was already going to put in a new amp, probably the 5-ch Alpine theater amp. It's supposed to be 100w rms for the subwoofer, so I'm looking for something that can create better than stock bass with a small amont of power. Do you know if the stock speakers will hold up to ext amp power or should I run them off the head unit [I'm going with a 7" widescreen dvd/cd/mp3]?

i currently have the v12 alpine amp 50rms x 4 for the speakers and the 5th channel will be for the sub pushing 150rms. i have a 6.5 eclipse double din unit.
i have seen lots of members put the kicker c10 and other free air subs in the place of the stock one with some modification of course.
i am awaiting my kicker c10 anytime from now.
and yes the c10 is the comp 10.and it can work as a free air sub and also in a box. keep in mind not all kicker subs are free-air subs.
good luck.
also, it has been evidently documented on CL that any aftermarket sub gives more bass than stock cos stock sub has like 80watts max(anybody, please correct me if wrong), so the rms is much lower than the a/markets with at 100for rms.

I'm using the Elemental Designs 10" shallow sub - it plays free air.

BTW, the Clarion is supposedly better then the pioneer shallow sub (magazine review).
