SC Nak system IPOD help.
Need help . I have a 98 SC400 with Nak/ system. I have the cassette tape to IPOD hook up. Is there any kit to work on the factory system beside the Cassette one ? I checked 2 install shops and none could find one.
Just want to charge and play the IPOD without the cassette tape thing with the wire hanging out.

i take the wire from the cassette adapter and tuck it in the top of the radio with a screw driver.it goes back around the radio, under the shifter, and comes up through the bottom of the center console.... i also bought a 4way ac adapter splitter at advance auto and an ipod car charger.. i have the adapter plugged in but have it so i can still close the cig. lighter casing so it doesnt look bad. the wire goes under the shift **** to the hub that is right behind the center console, and is in the floor of the backseat.the power cord comes up through the bottom of the center console, as does my phone charger. i also have my radar detector wired up through everything as well. its very easy, im 16 and have no experience with any sort of this stuff, yet it looks and works amazing. i like the cassette adapter too cause the bass hits WAY harder. i can post a pic later if anyone is interested

I think it's possible to fool the head unit into thinking a cd is playing, and you could patch in the low level signal to the changer signal routed into the head unit-- All the signals could be monitored on a working changer, to see what voltages are being sent while it's playing a track, sort of like signalling the head unit that it's working, as opposed to the signal that tells it the infamous "err" message--
It seems very doable and logical to me, and may be worth trying too, since the head unit itself is pretty high quality and can be hacked to work with aftermarket amps via the low level signals--
Of course the following diagram is useless to a Nak system owner since it's for the pioneer-- but the information is out there, and would be a similar procedure for either system

I used to run my mp3 player through my FM modulator hook up but the sound sucks compared to the cassete tape adpaptor. I set up a fm modulator hook up with audio in so I can connect any audio source through my factory system. I run my tv tuner ,nintendo 64(behind seat on floor) and ps2 (in glove box pictured with fm modulator audo in)audio via fm mod and it's sounds ok.
I put an ac converter in the console so I have a powersource to connect just about anything.
Glove box (fm mod audio affixed at top left of glove box, with PS2 slim)
7" screen set up....best viewing for higway driving, avoids danger of looking down and running into a semi truck and splattering your blood and guts all over the interior of your coveted Lexus SC

It's just an FM modulator, or a line-out signal that you would again have to figure out how to route into your system, either using the cassette adapter, or hacking into the cd changer signal lines-- which can be pretty easily accessed at the rear of the head unit-- I again just don't know if you can get away with setting the system to CD and feeding just an audio signal in, or if you'll need to provide other voltage signals to the head unit to tell it the changer is working..
It's tempting me now, so look for a thread about it soon.... I can completely skip the cassette adapter if this will work-- I don't use my broke A$$ $600 cd changer anyhow--

Well I guess from the results so far there is no kit to wire in. I know about the FM kits and the sound quality is terrible, not interested in any kits that link thur FM.
MJHSC400 I know someone who tried to do the CD wire in and after much $ in parts it did not come out to well, lots of hum and feeback noise then no bass.
I wondered if with the cassette ones you cant wire into the cassette tape head and run the wire thru the back of the unit and hide it so it does not have to show out the front ?
