help with OEM console

(SC400) recently my 12 disc lexus naka audio system crocked on me. it says error everytime i change disc - so basically nothing plays except my radio. im thinkin bout either installin a dvd screen or mp3 dec. i was told i needed some kinda converter from toyota to install a deck. lemme know what u guys think, wut u guys hav, esp from ppl wit aftermarket audio systems. thanks
