Well I took my car back today to the place that did my install and they fixed it so the buttons light up now but I didn't know that the screen dimmed too when you turn on the lights. The nav screen looks too dark and I like to have my lights on during the day. Is there a way for the screen to not change to night mode when I turn the lights on?

I have the 6610 on my car.. Your 5510 should has the same features and options. To make you NAV screeen brighter during the day while having your headlights on, all you need to do if press and hold the "source" button for about 2 seconds.. A menu screen will pop up. On the very top on the screen you should see, "DAY" "OFF" and "ENTER" button. Touch the day button and your screen will set to day time mode as you never turned on your headlights. I guess since the buttons are different on the 5500 vs the 5510 it's a different process but I just press the DISP button and it gives me the option to turn on and off DAY. So I'm happy now.
